Blog Set-up

I do not have a lot of prior experience using technology. I know how to use Word and PowerPoint in basic use from various high school and college classes. I have also used many unique apps and websites in order to accomplish projects, but have struggled in using more complex assignments such as creating my own website and making an interactive timeline. I have usually been explained how to do minimal work on various forms of technology, but have not gone deeper and when I try to do so it takes a long period of time.

I really would like to learn how to work with Excel because I do not have any prior experience with it. I also hope to learn different ways to present information rather than PowerPoint because I want to be an elementary teacher and kids tend to have a short attention span so I want to be able to make lessons exciting and interactive. I am also curious on how education is moving in the direction of  using social media in the classroom and the ways that can enhance students ability to learn.

I learned that my learning style is more hands on and I learn better from physically seeing examples rather than being told how to do something. I also learn from repetition, especially in this class the more I practice a certain program the easier it will be for me to understand it and implement it in other classes or in my career in the future.
